Circular walk around the newly enlarged Abberton Reservoir and RAMSAR Bird Sanctuary as part of the Essex Festival of Walks. Meet at Saint Andrew’s Church, Rectory Lane, Abberton (private car park – minimum Church donations £4 per car for all day parking) (grid ref TL 997 193, postcode CO5 7NJ) for walk round the reservoir. Morning via Peldon and Great Wigborough. Lunch at the EWT Abberton Visitors’ Centre café (no alcohol) ordered at start. Afternoon via Layer de la Hay and Malting Green.
